Adding a Bank Account

Link your bank account to PiTrade to deposit and withdraw funds easily.

Your bank account is the only payment method supported on PiTrade for transferring money.


Overview

To start trading on PiTrade, you need to link at least one bank account. This allows you to:

  • Deposit funds – Add money to your PiTrade account
  • Withdraw funds – Transfer money back to your bank
  • Manage your wallet – Keep track of your cash balance

The process is secure and straightforward. We use bank-level encryption to protect your information.


Before You Start

What You'll Need

  • Your bank account information
  • Your bank's routing number
  • Your account number
  • Your account type (Checking or Savings)
  • A valid bank account in your name

Supported Banks

PiTrade works with most US banks. If your bank isn't recognized, you can enter the information manually.

Security

  • Your bank information is encrypted and secure
  • We never store your full account number
  • Your data is protected with bank-level security
  • You can remove linked accounts anytime

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open Wallet Settings

  1. Open the PiTrade app
  2. Go to Wallet
  3. Tap "Add Bank Account" or the "+" button
  4. Select "Link a Bank Account"

Step 2: Enter Bank Information

You'll need to provide:

Bank Name

  • Enter your bank's name (e.g., "Goldman Sachs", "Bank of America")
  • The app can auto-fill this if you enter the routing number

Routing Number

  • A 9-digit code that identifies your bank
  • Find it on the bottom left of your checks
  • Or ask your bank for it

Account Number

  • Your unique account number
  • Found on your checks or bank statements
  • Usually 10-12 digits

Account Type

  • Select either "Checking Account" or "Savings Account"
  • Choose the type that matches your bank account

Step 3: Verify Your Information

  1. Review all the information you entered
  2. Make sure the bank name, routing number, and account number are correct
  3. Confirm the account type
  4. Tap "Continue"

Step 4: Confirm

  1. Review the confirmation screen
  2. Tap "Confirm" to link your bank account
  3. Your bank account is now linked to PiTrade

Step 5: Start Using It

Once linked, you can:

  • Deposit funds to your PiTrade account
  • Withdraw funds back to your bank
  • Manage multiple bank accounts

Online Banking

  1. Log into your bank's website or app
  2. Go to Account Details or Account Information
  3. Look for:
    • Routing number (also called ABA number)
    • Account number
    • Account type

By Calling Your Bank

Call your bank's customer service and ask for:

  • Your routing number
  • Your account number
  • Your account type (Checking or Savings)

What Each Field Means

Bank Name

  • The official name of your financial institution
  • Example: "Goldman Sachs", "Wells Fargo", "Bank of America"

Routing Number

  • A 9-digit code unique to your bank
  • Also called ABA number
  • Identifies which bank your account is with
  • Different from your account number

Account Number

  • Your unique account identifier
  • Usually 10-12 digits
  • Specific to your account only
  • Different for each account you have

Account Type

  • Checking Account – For everyday transactions
  • Savings Account – For saving money

Checking Account

Best for:

  • Regular deposits and withdrawals
  • Frequent transactions
  • Primary banking

Characteristics:

  • Unlimited transactions
  • Comes with a debit card
  • Check writing available
  • Lower interest rates

Savings Account

Best for:

  • Saving money
  • Less frequent transactions
  • Building emergency funds

Characteristics:

  • Limited transactions per month
  • Higher interest rates
  • No debit card
  • Designed for saving

Choose the account type that matches your actual bank account. If you're unsure, check your bank statements or online banking portal.
